Careers with the most new jobs, 2024–34
Percentage growth favours small fields. This ranking looks at the other side of the projections: the raw number of additional jobs each occupation is expected to add between 2024 and 2034. These are the roles where sheer volume of hiring works in a job seeker's favour.
Large numbers of new jobs usually mean large numbers of total openings, because big occupations also replace people who retire or move on. Every occupation listed also has published wage data, so you can weigh demand and pay together.

How this ranking differs from fastest growing
Fastest growing ranks by percentage change — a small occupation doubling in size tops that list. This list ranks by absolute jobs added, which favours huge occupations like nursing, driving and food service. Both use the same BLS 2024–34 projections; they just answer different questions.
Many jobs does not always mean high pay
Several of the highest-volume occupations are entry-level service roles with modest medians. Check the pay range on each occupation page — and if you want volume and pay together, compare this list with the highest paying jobs without a degree guide.
Openings also come from turnover
The figures here are net new positions only. Actual annual openings in large occupations are typically several times higher once retirements and job changes are counted, so these rankings understate total hiring.
